How Do I Become a Better Dancer?

April 27, 2010 by Ballroom Dance Lover

I’ve been taking some ballroom and latin dance classes at my nearest community college and I really REALLY enjoy it. The colleges nearby only offer up to intermediate dance, but I would like to improve my dance beyond just a recreational level. I also want to expand and learn more forms of dance. Any suggestions on what classes/ steps to take next?

Well, I would try and build up your skills until you could make it to a school that focuses on dance, like a performing arts school. I would take ballet classes and try to work up to pointe, also jazz/lyrical would be good too. Any school you look at your going to have to be able to leaps, turns, etc. You may be able to find a technique class that would help, also work on flexibility! Good luck! Hope that helps!!!
