I can salsa, and to me, it’s a lot of fun. Salsa is sensual and emotive.

I don’t do much C&W because I don’t care that much for the music. That will be one point you’ll have to consider. I’d also not choose merengue, because it’s so simple you’ll hate wasting the lessons on it. The other Latin dances are good choices, but I’d go with either waltz or foxtrot. It’s especially tempting to recommend waltz, where you’re more likely to be able to show off your professional-looking developes. People with ballet experience seem to look good in a hurry doing standard/smooth dances, as soon as they get the hang of having their feet pointed straight ahead.

They’re all awesome! I’ve taken ballroom dancing for three years now, and we’ve learned a variety of dances, including most of the ones you’ve listed. If you’re looking for something sophisticated go with the waltz, for something sexier pick one of the Latin dances (rhumba, cha-cha, salsa), or if you want something quick and fun go for the swing. It all depends on what you’re into. Good luck and have fun! :)

If you want into ballroom your best choices are the waltz, the foxtrot, rhumba. These
are elegant dances, very physically challenging, but you will see the steps are
similar in these and all the others-yes, even
    country dances
    Enjoy!.
